Who doesn’t want hair with healthy glow? I haven’t met that person yet. This is because shiny hair signals vibrant health. So follow the tips to get shiny hair below, if you have some slay game on
1.Rinse hair with Apple cider vinegar
Years ago, people discovered that Apple cider vinegar makes hair look silky and shiny. This is because its acid mantle, which is slightly acidic, is instrumental in making cuticle scales lie flat, which helps us get shiny hair, with smooth appearance. Its acid mantle is what makes it vital to our hair’s appearance (which is what most of us care about). A simple mixture of vinegar and water, used in rinsing your hair, smooths and seals the hair cuticle and cleanses buildup. As a result, light is reflected off the hair, making it smoother and shinier. To use ACV on hair, dilute it (1 part of ACV with 3 parts of water).
2. Aloe vera gel
Aloe vera gel smooths the cuticle surface and attracts and seals in moisture because of its emollient and moisturizing properties. It does this by forming a polymer film on the surface of the hair, thereby smoothing the cuticle, detangling and conditioning the hair. Its ability to smooth the cuticle and seal in moisture may impart the healthy shine you want. So when next you go shopping for products, you should look for products containing aloe vera, or better still extract pure aloe vera gel and mix with your leave-in conditioner and styling products to get shiny hair. It also works as a natural moisturizer as it has a great amount of vitamins and nutrients that help revitalize your hair’s appearance.
3. Air drying
Curly hair takes a lot of work, and you want to make it glam. Heat has the potential to rob your hair of moisture leaving it dull and drab, so why not keep the the blow dryer aside for awhile and try air drying. Air drying may take a lot of time, depending on the texture and length of the hair, so you may need to wake up early to wash and condition followed by curl cream or any styling product that holds the shape, and then just let hair air-dry to get shiny hair.
4. Get shiny hair with Hair gloss
Hair gloss is not as harsh or permanent as regular hair colour. Hair gloss is very acidic and tightly closes the hair cuticle resulting is a very smooth surface texture that reflects a lot more light and have a much softer feel. It works with the variation of tone that your hair naturally has, allowing for a more subdued shade, giving you a very tonal effect as opposed to being one solid opaque colour. You automatically get shiny hair. It also reduces a little bit of frizz, and your hair feels like you had a conditioning treatment and colour done.

Things to avoid
To get shiny hair, there are some things you need to avoid, such as:
Using Silicones to get shiny hair
There are so many ‘shine sprays’ marketed in today’s market for curly hair types. They contain silicones which reflect light. But unfortunately, if you have to use enough of these shine sprays you will have to coat your hair with it which ends up attracting dirt and dust, leaving residue on the hair which can only be washed off by sulfate shampoo. They also create a seal around the cuticle layer which prevents moisture from penetrating the hair shaft preventing your textured tresses from receiving the hydration that they need.
Wrong use of conditioners
There are two categories of conditioners: Moisturizing and Protein conditioners. Moisturizing conditioners can be left on hair for an extended period of time. Protein conditioners should be rinsed off the hair after 10 minutes because they tend to make the hair brittle and are used to strengthen hair. So when shopping for conditioners, be on the lookout for that. To get shiny hair you should use moisturizing conditioners.
